A few indoor wreaths will only add a festive touch!
Classic Colours: Ready do so some paintings? Choose leaves of a magnolia wreath and paint it red, green and white. Put glue onto the tops of the white leaves once dry. Then, dust on glitter for added sparkle.
Snow-capped Village: To adorn a feathery wreath, simply make a couple of card stock houses. You can use the same colours; green, red and white to match. Use pins to secure in the middle. You can make as many cards as you like to create the festive atmosphere.
Bells and Bows: Update a plain-looking boxwood wreath with a few jolly add-ons! Knot two 6” pieces of red ribbon, then wire a jingle ball to the centre. To push it in place, hot glue a skewer to the back.
For added Christmas cheers, hang some woodland stockings by your doorway! Making the stockings is very easy. Print out templates and cut all the shapes out of corresponding felt and fabric. Next step is to sew the front and back of the stocking shapes together with a ¼ seam; turn inside out.
For the cuff, cut an 8 x 16 rectangle from matching felt. Sew the ends together with ¼ seam. You then have to turn inside out and slide over the top of the stocking and hot glue it in place. Cut out a head shape from cotton batting. This has to be slightly smaller than the felt pieces. Next you sandwich the batting piece between the head shapes and hot-glue the layers together.
If you’d like to add a scarf, cut a 6 x 48 rectangle and stitch together on long sides. Turn inside out. After putting the body features together, wrap cotton scarf twice and tie.
You can make extra-special decorations a focal point at home! Simply hang them front and centre on a staircase banister or you may even drape your favourites on chair backs or doorknobs.
Spread Joy: You can spread joy around the house with hanging letters ‘JOY’! Simply paint wooden letters J and Y with red acrylic paint. Use green yarn to wrap a wooden letter O. To secure the ends, use hot glue and attach a small bow and gems. Arrange the letters facedown to attach them. You can then hot glue small card stock strips from one letter to the next. Hot-glue a loop of baker’s twine to the back of the O to hang it.
