Creative Suite 2 and QuickTime 7.1 bug on Mac-Intel
According to a story in Macworld, the recent QuickTime 7.1 update is causing issues for users trying to install the Adobe Creative Suite 2 (and point products) on Mac-Intel machines.

Issue:When you try to reopen an image larger than 2 GB in Adobe Photoshop CS2, you receive one of the following error messages:
– “Could not complete your request because of a disk error.”
– “Could not complete your request because the selected pattern is not available.”
– “Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered.”

From the Adobe Photoshop Windows User to User Forums comes a report that the 9.0.1 update for Windows effect mouse clicks on menus in some cases. Menues require an extra click to regain focus from non-maximized document.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 (aka version 9.0.0) has a new update available for download to update Photoshop 9.0.0 to 9.0.1.
The updates are now available for downloading-the Mac version is here and the Windows version is here.

The Disable VM Buffering plug-in can be installed to eliminate pauses during painting on Macintosh machines with more than 4GB of physical RAM installed. It will have no effect on machines with 4GB or less of RAM. On machines with more than 4GB of RAM, it can eliminate pauses during painting operations at some cost in performance with very large documents.

It’s been reported on both the Adobe Photoshop for Mac forums as well as on several other support sites-specifically MacInTouch that Apple OS X 10.4.6 update causes issues when reading or writing to and from servers running AFP (Apple File Protocol) particularly from within Adobe Photoshop CS2.
