Major Release Advances Image Quality, Performance and Workflow Flexibility for Photographers

SAN JOSE, Calif., – June 8, 2010 – Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the immediate availability of Adobe(r) Photoshop(r) Lightroom(r) 3 software for Windows(r) and Macintosh, the essential digital photography workflow solution that allows photographers to quickly organize, enhance and showcase their images from one application. First released as a public beta in October 2009, the final version of Lightroom 3 introduces a completely redesigned performance architecture that better handles growing image libraries and provides an unrivaled raw processing engine with noise reduction and sharpening tools to achieve the highest image quality. The 64-bit capable Lightroom 3 includes new features that optimize workflows and allow images to be shared in creative ways, including support for DSLR video files and tethered shooting on select cameras.

“There have been over 600,000 downloads of the Lightroom 3 public beta, which has supplied us with a huge amount of valuable feedback from a passionate community of professional and advanced amateur photographers,” said Kevin Connor, vice president of product management for Digital Imaging at Adobe. “The open dialog we have with our customers allows us to further improve Lightroom and provide the best tools they need to produce high-quality images. We’re happy to see that so many people are anxiously anticipating the final release, so they can start taking advantage of all the new features they had a hand in developing.”

Public Beta Process Perfects Lightroom 3 New Features
Re-built from its core to be lightening fast and responsive, Lightroom 3 adds power throughout the application to provide a fluid experience for photographers. Images load almost instantaneously, and the import experience has been redesigned to be more intuitive, with added previews and default selections that give users quick access to sort through and find images. Helping streamline and adapt to photographers’ changing workflows, Lightroom 3 now allows users to import and manage DSLR video files, as well as take advantage of tethered shooting for select Nikon and Canon cameras.

New state-of-the-art photographic tools help photographers bring out the best in their images. Unrivaled Luminance and Color Noise Reduction tools help produce a clearer picture from high ISO or underexposed images while still preserving details. The highly-requested Automatic Lens Correction feature can dramatically improve the results possible with any lens by allowing users to apply profiles that correct for undesirable geometric distortions, chromatic aberrations, and lens vignette effects that most lenses introduce to the image. Users now also have a straighten tool to perfect vertical and horizontal perspective, additional presets for applying more photographic adjustment styles, and three new contemporary vignette styles and a Grain effect to add a more natural look with images.

Lightroom 3 Expands Image Showcasing
Output options have also been enhanced in this release, with new capabilities to publish collections on online sharing sites. Flickr(r) users have the ability to synch their accounts to Lightroom with one click, and integration with additional online photo sharing sites can be added via third-party plug-ins. Customizable print layouts provide more refined control over how photographers present final images, and new watermarking features with options to modify text, size, location and style, help give professionals and amateurs flexibility for branding images. Lightroom 3 now also includes the ability to export polished slideshows as video files with the option to add audio and title screens.

Pricing and Availability
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 for Windows and Macintosh is available now at www.adobe.com/store, for pre-order via Amazon.com and NewEgg.com and will be available soon at retail and online outlets such as Frys, BestBuy.com, Costco.com, Walmart.com, Staples.com, OfficeMax.com, OfficeDepot.com and select camera stores. The estimated street price is USD $299 for new users with an upgrade price of USD$99 for qualified registered Lightroom users. Recommended system requirements are Macintosh OS X v 10.5, 10.6 with Intel(r) based processor, or Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 7, Windows Vista(r) Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise or Windows XP with Service Pack 3, Intel(r) Pentium(r) 4 processor, 2 GB RAM and a 1,024×768 resolution screen.

Additional information on product features, upgrade policies, pricing, and language versions is available on www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom.
Major Software Upgrade Further Simplifies Photography Workflows

Press Release: SAN JOSE, Calif. — July 29, 2008 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the immediate availability of Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 2 software, the photographer’s essential toolbox for managing, adjusting and presenting large volumes of digital photographs. With new enhancements such as dual-monitor support, radical advances in non-destructive localized image correction, and streamlined search capabilities, Lightroom 2 is a compelling upgrade that simplifies photography from shoot to finish. As Adobe’

s first application to support 64-bit for Mac OS X 10.5 Macintosh computers with Intel® processors and Microsoft® Windows® Vista® 64bit operating systems, Lightroom 2 also provides improved memory performance for dealing with large scale images.

“A worldwide community of photographers provided valuable insight and feedback, as part of the Lightroom 2 public beta program, ultimately helping us deliver a better product,” said Tom Hogarty, senior product manager for Lightroom and Camera Raw at Adobe. “We’

ve considered their requests which helped us develop useful features that make it easier than ever for our customers to quickly refine, enhance and present brilliant photographs.

Photoshop Lightroom 2: Smarter, Faster and More Accurate
The enhanced Library module in Lightroom 2 helps streamline and accelerate photographers’

workflows. With the ability to visually organize images across multiple hard drives, Lightroom 2 and its powerful Library Filter Bar makes it easy for users to quickly find the images they need. The Suggested Keywords feature helps photographers keyword their images by making intelligent suggestions based on their own previous efforts. New dual-monitor support allows users to expand their workspace, giving them flexibility to edit and organize images in a way that maximizes an additional display.

In the Develop module, the new Local Adjustment Brush lets photographers fine-tune specific areas of an image to precisely adjust color, exposure and tonal range without affecting other areas of the image. The new Graduated Filter expands the toolbox in Lightroom, allowing for edits to larger areas by applying gradually diminishing or increasing adjustment effects such as exposure, clarity, and saturation, alone, or in any combination. Lightroom 2 also helps photographers print more efficiently by quickly arranging photos of multiple sizes on one or many pages with flexible and customizable templates to maximize paper and ink. Intelligent algorithms automatically determine optimal sharpening for screen or print, producing crisper images faster.

Developers can further extend the Lightroom workflow with Web, Export and Metadata Software Development Kits available at the Adobe Developer Connection, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/.

Ground-Breaking Innovation in Raw Technology
New raw technology gives photographers access to flexible camera profiles. Camera profiles are the visual starting point for the raw processing workflow, but image preferences vary for every photographer. To minimize surprises, Adobe is supplying default camera profiles that closely emulate the visual looks that photographers are used to seeing from their favorite camera, while also providing the ability to create highly customized profiles to suit different tastes. Camera profiles are available for immediate download on Adobe Labs (http://labs.adobe.com) for use with Lightroom 2 and Camera Raw 4.5, along with the DNG Profile Editor for the community to test and create their own profiles.

The Adobe Camera Raw 4.5 plug-in and DNG Converter 4.5 are also now available on Adobe.com and support over 190 camera models including the Olympus E 420 and E 520 models.

“One of the big reasons why Lightroom has become such a phenomenon among serious photographers is that Adobe built it with the input of a very vocal user community,” said Scott Kelby, president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). “Adobe really listens to the issues and challenges today’s photographers face and they’ve built a complete solution that not only meets the needs of photographers; it really feels like it was made just for us. The enhancements to Lightroom 2, combined with the power of Photoshop, give photographers the ultimate freedom to produce professional images quickly.”

Pricing and Availability
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 is available now through the Adobe Store at www.adobe.com/store in English, French and German with the Japanese language version planned to be released at a future date. The estimated street price is USD$299 for new users with an upgrade price of USD$99 for registered users of qualifying Lightroom customers. Recommended system requirements are Macintosh OSX 10.4, 10.5 1 GHz PowerPC G4 or G5 or Intel® based processor, or Microsoft Windows® XP SP2 or Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise, Intel Pentium 4® processor, 1 GB RAM and a 1024×768 resolution screen. Additional information on product features, upgrade policies, pricing, and language versions is available on www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/.

Press Release: SAN JOSE, Calif. — Dec. 5, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Existing Building (LEED®) Platinum certifications for Adobe’s East and Almaden headquarters towers in downtown San Jose, distinguishing Adobe as the world’s first commercial enterprise to achieve a total of three Platinum certifications under the LEED program. Adobe’s West Tower was awarded Platinum certification in July 2006. Last night, during a reception recognizing Adobe’s certification of the West Tower, USGBC President and CEO Rick Fedrizzi announced the additional certifications.

“The LEED certifications are a validation of Adobe’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental stewardship and create healthy work environments for our employees,” said Bruce Chizen, CEO of Adobe. “We are proud to have achieved this level of success through our green practices and hope our accomplishments will serve as a role model for the global business community.”

The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. The rating system was designed by leading experts in the construction industry to promote buildings that are economically profitable, environmentally friendly, healthy and productive places to work. Platinum certification of Adobe’s Almaden and East Towers was based on ratings in six categories: sustainability; water efficiency; energy efficiency and atmospheric quality; use of materials and resources; indoor environmental quality; and innovations in upgrades, operations and maintenance.

“With the certification of Adobe’s Almaden and East Towers, Adobe has again raised the bar for other companies seeking to introduce sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices into their facilities,” said Rick Fedrizzi, founder, president and CEO of the USGBC. “The USGBC is honored to congratulate Adobe on its substantial achievements. Not only has Adobe achieved the highest environmental honor for a commercial building with the West Tower Platinum certification, but these two additional certifications make Adobe the only company in the world to have three LEED Platinum buildings.”

To achieve Platinum certification of the East and Almaden Towers, which opened in 1998 and 2003 respectively, Adobe invested approximately $650,000 for energy and environmental retrofits since 2001. These retrofits have resulted in approximately $728,000 in savings to date, for a total return on investment of approximately 115 percent. Working with facilities management firm Cushman & Wakefield, Adobe implemented a variety of projects, including: installation of drought tolerant landscaping, installation of an irrigation system linked to local weather stations which automatically adjusts according to real-time weather conditions; and use of sensors to monitor carbon monoxide levels and adjust operation of building exhaust fans accordingly. Adobe also increased its use of outdoor air and enhanced the overall maintenance of its air systems, resulting in better indoor air quality.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Nov. 1, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced its call for entries to the seventh annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA). The program honors and recognizes the most talented and promising student designers, photographers, illustrators, animators and digital filmmakers from the world’s top design, film, interactive and Web higher education programs. This year, the competition will accept entries from 30 participating countries.

“The Adobe Design Achievement Awards pay homage to the best and the brightest students around the globe who push the limits of creative innovation,” said Ann Lewnes, senior vice president of corporate marketing and communications at Adobe. “This program continues to cultivate new generations of design talent and reinforces Adobe’s commitment to design and film education.”

Now in its seventh year, this world leading design competition has been expanded to include more students from across the globe by adding Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Mexico, Portugal, Spain and Turkey. These students are invited to join students from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the United States in submitting projects. The nine submission categories include: animation, digital illustration, digital photography, interactive and Web design, live action, motion graphics, environmental graphics and packaging, multiple page print design, and single page print design.

The designers of the 2007 ADAA marketing campaign were a collaboration of winners and finalists from the 2006 competition. A team of seven submitted the unique concept “Going Places,” which reflects their personal experiences of the ADAA program. The “Going Places” design will appear on all ADAA collateral, including competition posters, postcards, and advertisements.

Also new this year, Adobe will be accepting submissions online through April 27, 2007. Entries will be judged digitally in May and semifinalists will be asked to mail in their entries for the final phase of judging. Students must submit projects based on the use of Adobe design environments, such as Adobe® Creative Suite®, Adobe Production Studio, and Macromedia Studio. Projects are reviewed and scored by an independent panel of six distinguished judges, including Carole Guevin, publisher of Netdiver.com; Jan Wilker, co-founder of karlssonwilker inc.; Armin Vit, founder of UnderConsideration; Sande Scoredos, executive director of Sony Pictures Imageworks; Andrew Lin, vice president at Paramount Vantage; and Gaby Brink, co-founder of Templin Brink Design.

Judges will select the winners and finalists, based on originality and effectiveness in communicating project objectives. Finalists will receive a trip to San Francisco to participate in the awards ceremony, and an opportunity to showcase their work. Finalists will also receive a selection of Adobe software products, meet with leading industry professionals during studio tours, and have the opportunity to participate in internships such as the 2007 SIGGRAPH Guerilla Studios. Award winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on August 2, 2007 at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. Each winning entry will receive a US$5,000 cash prize.

Corporate sponsors of this year’s competition include Xerox Corporation for print communications and Toppan Printing Co., America Inc. for printing services.

Company Reaffirms Fourth Quarter Revenue Target Range

Press Release: SAN JOSE, Calif. — Oct. 25, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) today is providing its regular intra-quarter business update for its fourth quarter of fiscal 2006, which ends December 1, 2006.

With more than five weeks remaining in its fourth quarter, Adobe reaffirmed it believes the Company will achieve quarterly revenue of $655 to $685 million. This original revenue target range was provided by the Company on September 14, 2006.

Adobe also announced it is increasing its GAAP operating margin and GAAP earnings per share target ranges for the Company’s fourth quarter. The Company stated it is targeting a GAAP operating margin range of 23 to 25 percent in Q4 FY2006, with GAAP earnings per share of $0.29 to $0.32. The Company’s original GAAP operating margin target range was 21 to 24 percent, with a GAAP earnings per share target range of $0.19 to $0.22. The increase in these GAAP target ranges is due to a recent gain from the sale of an equity investment, and lower stock compensation expense than was originally targeted for the fourth quarter.

In its business update, Adobe also reaffirmed it believes it will achieve results within its prior Q4 FY2006 non-GAAP financial target ranges. The Company continues to target a non-GAAP operating margin of 37 to 38 percent, with non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.32 to $0.34 in its fourth quarter.

Adobe stated it has experienced solid demand in its major geographic markets quarter-to-date. In addition, the Company stated Adobe Acrobat 8 will start shipping as planned during the first week of November.

The Company plans to report its fourth quarter fiscal 2006 results on December 14, 2006, after the market closes.

Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Adds Essential Tools for Creating, Collaborating and Controlling Output of PDF Files; Now Ships with Dreamweaver 8

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Sept. 18, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that Adobe® Acrobat® 8 Professional software (see separate release issued today) will be integrated into Adobe Creative Suite® 2.3 Premium. Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional enhances Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 and its support for Adobe PDF workflows with advanced tools for creating, collaborating, and controlling the output of high-quality Adobe PDF files.

Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium also bundles Dreamweaver® 8, the industry-leading Web design and development tool. Dreamweaver 8 supports best practices and broader Web workflows for efficiently designing, developing and maintaining standards-based Web sites and applications. Future versions of Adobe Creative Suite will integrate Dreamweaver as a replacement for Adobe GoLive®. Adobe will continue to develop GoLive as a standalone product.

“Acrobat 8 Professional enables printers to achieve better quality while automating workflows and controlling costs, and together with the recently released Adobe PDF Print Engine delivers the first end-to-end native PDF workflow,” said Mark Hilton, vice president of product management. “In addition, we decided it was the right time to deliver Dreamweaver with Creative Suite 2.3, so customers can make the transition to the industry’s leading Web design and development tool.”

More Powerful PDF Workflows
Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium integrates Acrobat 8 Professional to enable creative and print professionals to efficiently create, collaborate with, and automate output of Adobe PDF files. In addition to supporting industry-standard PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 files, Acrobat 8 Professional now outputs PDF/X-4 for native transparency support, as well as PDF/A for long-term archiving.

Creative workgroups can now easily set up shared reviews so participants can see and respond to each other’s comments as they review. Users of Adobe Reader® 8 can participate in new shared reviews when enabled by Acrobat 8, as well as email- and Web-based reviews, digitally sign documents, and submit completed forms. Acrobat 8 Professional also introduces the Start Meeting feature with built-in access to Adobe Acrobat Connect™ (formerly Breeze), a Web-hosted subscription service that supports real-time online collaboration for geographically dispersed creative teams and their clients (available in the U.S. only at ship).

With Creative Suite 2.3, printers can automatically fix problems identified during pre-flight review in PDF, including hairlines, color space, transparency flattening, font embedding, and image resolution. Enhanced support for automated JDF workflows enables printers to automatically output and validate PDF files from Adobe InDesign® CS2 software. Tighter integration with Creative Suite 2.3, including the ability to synchronize color settings between Acrobat and other components, support for transparency flattener presets, and a shared print engine, further enhance PDF-based workflows.

Pricing and Availability
Adobe expects to ship Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 plus Dreamweaver 8 for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh in English, French, German, and Japanese in the fourth quarter 2006. Estimated street prices will be US$1199 for the full version of Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium, US$159 for an upgrade from Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, and US$549 for an upgrade from Creative Suite 1.x Premium and Standard.
