Joe Barrett: Lightroom 2 eBook

You reviewed my last book back in March last year. Thanks.

It’ a collection of over 25 tips and techniques that he’s been progressively posting. It’s not the first time you’ve seen the name either, because he also had one for Lightroom 1. As with the first book, this is free, but donations are accepted.

    LR2/Mogrify Update: Size inclusive borders

    Timothy Armes has today annouced a small but very useful update to LR2/Mogrify, his plugin for adding watermarks, annotations and borders to images exported from Lightroom 2.

    In this update it’s now possible to include any borders within the size requirements that you specify in the plugin’s resizing panel. For example, it’s now possible to export images that are all 600px wide including any borders. Until now the borders have always been added to this size.

    Camera Raw 5.2 and DNG Converter Available

    Lightroom and Camera Raw Product manager Tom Hogarty has announced the availability of Camera Raw 5.2, while simultaneously announcing that Lightroom 2.2 will be available in December.

    Camera Raw 5.2 and DNG Converter Available

    The Camera Raw 5.2 and DNG Converter 5.2 are now available on Adobe.com.(For Photoshop CS4 customers I recommend choosing the ‘Updates…’ option from the Help menu) This release includes additional features and new camera support. Lightroom will be updated to version 2.2 in December to provide the equivalent camera support.

    LRB Portfolio updated to Version 1.1

    LRB Portfolio, the website in a gallery plugin for Lightroom has been updated to version 1.1. New features include an error page for galleries lacking enough images, body font settings and background image control. Bug fixes include an issue with mail.php generation in 1.03. Current users can get the update through the download email they received with product purchase.

    ProShow Plug-in for Lightroom

    Photodex have announced a ProShow Plug-in for Lightroom. Users of ProShow Gold or Producer can now quickly and easily set-up slideshows in Lightroom and export directly to ProShow Gold or Producer. From there you can further refine the Slideshow. As ProShow is PC only, the plugin is also only for PC users.

    LR2/Mogrify 1.40 – “bordering” on perfection

    Timothy Armes has announced the release of version 1.40 of LR2/Mogrify, his donationware plug-in for watermarking, annotating and adding borders to images as they are exported from Lightroom

    With version 1.40 Timothy has added the single most requested feature that his users have been asking for – the ability to control the size of each border independently, either in pixels or as a percentage of the width or height of the image.

    Similarly, the font size can now also be specified as a percentage.
