Is anyone else having problems with this file? I've downloaded it twice, but it causes Quicktime to quit unexpectedly. I thought this was because I'd just run Apple's Software Updater (for 10.4.11, Safari and iTunes), but Quicktime is playing other MP4 downloads OK, and I can't see anyone else having this problem on Apple forums. I'd really like to watch the tutorial - hope you can help.

Hey Stew, I always felt the default was a little aggressive, so I'm glad to see others agree.

Very nice tutorial. Thanks for producing and posting it. Pretty slick using the 2 beta to include the little zoom window in the Detail section (just above Noise Reduction)!

I was able to immediately use this information to improve a low-light shot I'd taken. And from now on, I'll always reduce the color noise reduction from the default, then increase as needed.

Thanks!

Adias, even on a 5X7 print, the noise is immediately obvious.

I doubt that that noise would be noticed on a print. Would it?

In this case it needed that much, at least visually. The issue is that it softens things, so you need to sharpen without resharpening the noise, hence using the mask to sharpen only the edges.

Wow, you're much braver with the luminance NR than I ever am -- I'm gonna have to play with that a bit more. Thanks!
