Lightroom 2 Beta: Using the window in Detail

detailpre.jpg

With the changes to detail in the new Beta, some people are uncertain about what can be done with the small preview window in the Detail pane of Develop. Here’s another quick movie (again MP4, I’m trying to keep the movie at a veiwable size), detailing this preview window (pardon the pun).

An alternative for those with who prefer not to keep the Detail window closed is to click on the exclamation mark to open the Detail Loupe. This will result in a window with similar functionality appearing to the left of the Detail panel. Right clicking on the loupe gives you the option of 1:1 or 2:1 You still have the ability to drag the image around the loupe or to lock it via the TAT cursor

BTW: the Detail window must be closed before the alternative loupe can be activated.

Ian, you mention clicking on the exclamation mark to open the Detail Loupe. I can’t locate this feature – could you be a little more explicit? Thanks.
