Thanks Andrew,

What I am talking about is a fade to go from Normal mode to Luminosity mode. It would also be nice for Photoshop to have a hue lock mode, as in ACR. And then maybe the fade between modes would allow blends of hue locked ACR style to Normal or hue locked ACR style to Luminosity. Interesting possibilities don't you think? I know you personally have been feature requesting saturation curve controls in the Curves dialog for some time!

Another winner Martin. I'm going to have to re-read it again to get it all to sink in. I think the point about using LR with Saturation and/or Vibrance to control the effect is exactly what dismisses those who say its unfit for pro use due to its initial behavior. The rendering controls are there to produce, as you've shown, the color appearance a user would want.

I do have a question about this:

"For Photoshop users it could be argued that what is needed is a slider control in the Curves dialog going from a Normal mode to a Luminosity mode curve adjustment. "

What role, if any does the Fade control have here?
