Project: Photoshop Lightroom Report

projectlr.jpg

Project: Photoshop Lightroom with photographer Colin Finlay and Adobe’s Julieanne Kost recently visited the College of DuPage in suburban Chicago. Over the course of two days, students and faculty heard a lecture by Finlay in which he shared his career as a photographer and Adobe’s Senior Evangelist Julieanne Kost, provided students with in-depth seminars on using Photoshop and Lightroom to support a digital workflow.

The second day also comprised a small group of photo students participating with Finlay in a photo shooting assignment. Students selected images from this assignment to be placed into a portfolio and then uploaded to the Project: Photoshop Lightroom site for sharing with the extended community.

Since it was in my general neck of the woods, I drove out to the college to see what was going on (and shoot some snaps).

appleadobe.pngAccording to The Business News Source, Apple and Adobe are at war. Which comes as a bit of a shock to people I know at both companies.

The Business News Source, which bills itself as “a free and impartial review of global business news” obviously isn’t all that concerned with “getting it right”.

Seetha’s Fan Club-Revisited

Just when Seetharaman Narayanan (aka Seetha) thought he was safe, he goes and does an interview with David Friedman of IconicSans. In the interview, he talks about his fan club, history with Photoshop, and enjoyment of “Playboy’s number one Party School in 1987″ (Seetha received a Masters Degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale). Even Boing Boing picked up on the interview.

It all started in December of 2004 on a thread on CONCEPTART.ORG and was flamed by Jeff Schewe’s photos of Seetha in his feature story A Visit to Adobe last summer. The story continued with an article on PSN last August called Seetha’s Fan Club.
