Lightroom Beta 4 new features and known issues

With the release of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Beta 4, Adobe has posted a web page for the Lightroom Beta 4 Release Notes. Anybody downloading and using B4 should read the release notes to find out more about new features as well as the known issues.

Lightroom Beta 4: The Develop module


Adobe has released Adobe Lightroom Beta 4 for Macintosh and Windows, and is available for download at: Labs.Adobe.com. Windows users can now access more of the module features that were previously unavailable in the PC version of public Beta 3. But the main changes in Beta 4 have all taken place in the Library and Develop modules.

In this first part review we are going to concentrate on what’s new in the Develop module. This is the first chance to see how the Raw Shooter raw processing technology has been incorporated into Beta 4, and how Adobe has added more versatility to the tone and color edit controls. Some of the key new features are that you can drag-edit the histogram and have the ability to directly edit the tone curve plus make on-image tone curve edits. Adobe Releases Adobe Lightroom Beta 4

New Round of Enhancements in Latest Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Beta Unites Feature Set for Macintosh and Windows Versions

SAN JOSE, Calif. and COLOGNE, Germany - Sept. 25, 2006 - Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced an update to the public beta of Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom(tm) software at the Photokina tradeshow in Cologne, Germany. Available immediately for download from Adobe Labs, this update unites the product feature set for Windows® and Macintosh platforms, giving professional photographers a new way to import, manage and showcase large volumes of digital photographs. More than 325,000 people have opted to try Lightroom during the beta period and feedback has been fueled by over 3,400 of them sharing input in Adobe online forums. The final version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is expected to ship in early 2007.

“Getting to watch my dad, in retrospect, taught me more about business than anyone else in my life,” recalls Chizen, the CEO of software giant Adobe Systems (ADBE). “His business was all about loyalty and word of mouth. He would do anything for the customer.”

Camera Raw/DNG Converter 3.5 Update Posted

Adobe Reports Solid Third Quarter Financial Results

Company Achieves 24 Percent Year-Over-Year Revenue Growth

SAN JOSE, Calif. — September 14, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today reported financial results for its third quarter ended September 1, 2006. The Company’s Q3 results reflect the acquisition of Macromedia in December, 2005, and are compared to pre-acquisition results of prior fiscal periods as applicable.

In the third quarter of fiscal 2006, Adobe achieved revenue of $602.2 million, compared to $487.0 million reported for the third quarter of fiscal 2005 and $635.5 million reported in the second quarter of fiscal 2006. On a year-over-year basis, this represents 24 percent revenue growth. Adobe’s third quarter revenue target range was $580 to $610 million.
