Michael Reichmann of The Luminous Landscape has released his second Lightroom Video Tutorial DVD featuring Michael and myself (Jeff Schewe) with discussions about Lightroom and tutorials on how to use Lightroom Beta 3. The DVD is available for $14.99 directly from the web site and is available to regular Video Journal subscribers for $5.00 off.
The DVD was shot in June at Michael’s “little cottage in the country” (well, that’s how he described it to me when he invited me). Chris Sanderson, the regular videographer for the Video Journal, taped Michael and I (and served double duty being head chef for dinners). The following is a photo story outlining the shoot. Note: it only has a bit of content regarding Lightroom but has more than a bit of humor mixed in with the photos.

The Digital Outback Photo web site has released a free Photoshop Batch processor: XBatch
XBatch is simple to use and produces batch operations like Image Processor in Photoshop CS2 but maintains the folder hierarchy of the original folder of images.

Project: Photoshop and Lightroom Education Road Show Begins September 5

In what some media wags are calling a “Photoshop Diet Program”, it seems CBS is concerned about Katie’s waistline and is taking steps to improve it. TVNEWSER has a story about Katie’s Extreme Makeover. The image on the left was released earlier in the year and the image on the right is from the September issue of Watch Magazine, which is owned by CBS.

Arrays of thousands of tiny “super prisms” controlled by robotic muscles could bring real colour to TV screens for the first time, scientists say.

The devices, known as electrically tunable diffraction gratings, have been built by researchers in Switzerland.
They manipulate light to reproduce the full spectrum of colours on screen, impossible using existing technology.
